Carol and Alison are both full-time clinical psychologists with a great deal of clinical experience.

Carol specialises in preoperative assessments and everyone heading towards surgery sees her as a matter of routine. This is to try to ensure realistic expectations and to identify any problem areas or 'barriers to change' that might become problems after the operation, especially when a lot of alterations to dietary behaviour are required.

Alison’s special interest is in the treatment of psychological problems, especially in relation to eating behaviour, so provides assistance if significant issues are flagged up pre-operatively, or appear later. She is also very helpful if people have some background conditions as depression or anxiety, as these can sometimes affect the outcome of surgery.
